Karachi Port’s and Port Qasim’s activities

KARACHI: The Karachi Port handled 104,034 tonnes of cargo including 81,639 tonnes of import cargo, 22,395 tonnes of export cargo, 3,776 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 81,639 tonnes comprised of 24,452 tonnes of containerised cargo; 304 tonnes of general cargo; 14,788 tonnes of bulk cargo: 5,000 tonnes of coal; 1,421 tonnes of MAP; 3,468 tonnes of DAP; 4,899 tonnes of rape seeds and 42,095 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 22,395 tonnes comprised of 15,872 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,503 tonnes of general cargo; 5,020 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,051 tonnes of cement and 969 tonnes of rice. Three ships namely Bunga Raya Dua, APL Amman and Hyundai Long Beach sailed out to sea during the reported period.

Five vessels viz Wan Hai-602, Kota Handal, APL Cyprine, Sammi Superstars and Iron Butterfly are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Lodestar Genesis and Kota Handal expected to sail on Wednesday, while four vessels viz Seruwila, Iron Butterfly, Cathrina andv Krateros are expected to sail on Thursday. Six vessels viz MT Karachi, Hanjin Gdynia, Lieutenant Genova, Cap Gabriel, Mazin Arab and Admire Coral due to arrive on Wednesday, while five ships namely APL Chicago, Hansa Stavanger, Mariner, Li Hai and BBCDenmark Coral are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 95,090 tonnes of cargo includes 77,608 tonnes of import cargo; 17,402 tonnes of export cargo and 2,413 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours on Wednesday.

The total import cargo of 77,608 tonnes includes 40,851 tonnes of furnace oil; 10,164 tonnes of iron ore; 6,007 tonnes of coal; 5,186 tonnes of rape seeds and 15,480 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 17,402 tonnes includes 830 tonnes of cement and 16,572 tonnes of containerised cargo.

Three vessels viz CV Saudi Tabuk, CV MSC Jeanne and MT Fair Spirit sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while two more container ships namely CV ACX Raflesia and CV Nedlloyd Drake are expected to sail on Wednesday. A total number of eight ships namely CV Nedlloyd Drake, CV MSC Jeanne, MV Captain Said, MV Green Line, MV Mighty Michal, MV Gingo Ko, MT SC Haikou and MT Fair Spirit are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, coal, rape seeds, iron ore and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Six vessels viz Hae Song, Alexi-1, Royal Pearl, Memphis, Darwin and ACX Raflesia carrying cement, sugar, fernace oil and containers are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four ships namely CV ACX Raflesia, CV Ville-D-Orion, CV Darwin and MT Memphis carrying containers and furnace oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday.

Two container vessels viz CV CSAV Jura and CV Dubai Express are due to arrive on Thursday, while three more ships namely CV Glory, MT Atlantic Fraoke and MT Enricovoli carrying containers, general cargo and chemicals are due to arrive on Friday. A total number of four vessels viz MSC Sana, Bunga Kantan, Harsanadi and Da Fu carrying containers, palm oil, chemicals and general cargo are also due to arrive. -Brecorder
