LAHORE: All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) chairman Gohar Ejaz has been appointed new chairman on LESCO Board of Directors by the Ministry of Water and Power on the recommendation of Planning Commission.Former LESCO (Lahore Electric Supply Company) BoD chairman Yawar Hayat and his seven member board became dysfunctional when the board was dissolved in November 2010 following an announcement by the Ministry of Water and Power to dissolve PEPCO (Pakistan Electric Power Company) on austerity economic measures taken under the 18th Amendment of the Constitution by the federal government.Gohar Ejaz confirmed his appointment as LESCO BoD chairman, however he said he could not receive the copy of notification so far. He said the notification has been issued appointing seven members, as per his information.He said industry should always be a priority. “There should be zero load shedding for industry and we got it approved from the National Energy Summit.
