PPP workers want Benazir`s killers brought to book

PESHAWAR: The third death anniversary of former prime minister and chairperson of Pakistan People`s Party Benazir Bhutto was observed with reverence in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday.In Peshawar, People`s Doctors Forum arranged a seminar at the press club which was attended by representatives of different PPP organisations, who pledged to carry forward the mission of the late leader for promotion of democracy in the country.Senior party activists, including Barrister Masood Kausar, Azam Khan Afridi, Ghani Gul Masood, Zulqarnanin, president Peoples` Labour Bureau Tila Mohammad and former PSF leaders Abdullah Yusufzai, Waheed Afzal Golra and Kifayatullah Orakzai attended the function.PDF provincial president Dr Nisar Ahmad presided over the function. Through unanimously adopted resolutions the participants demanded early completion of the investigations to expose the murderers of Benazir Bhutto. The speakers said that if the PPP leaders failed to bring the accused to book, it would be a matter of shame for them and the party workers.

They also urged the PPP-led government to follow `Bhuttoism` to prove that the present government was true follower of the philosophy of late Bhuttos.Mr Kausar said that the PPP manifesto, prepared by scholars and educated segment of society, attracted labourers, peasants and youth of the country to the party. He called upon all party cadres to project the policies of the government.He said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto waged a short struggle of three years against the military dictatorship, but Benazir wrote a history by facing 11 years of hardships of the military dictatorship of Ziaul Haq and then the Pervez Musharraf`s rule.Mr Kausar said that Benazir had filled the vacuum created after the demise of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto besides giving a new courage, hope and leadership to people of Pakistan.Mr Abdullah said that the party leaders had formed the party for public welfare, but the selfish ministers had destroyed it for their own gains. He said that the ministers were unable to face workers.

Mr Orakzai said that the time was ripe to expose the accused involved in killing of Benazir otherwise the workers would not forgive the leadership. The speakers paid homage to their slain leader and vowed to continue her mission.MANSEHRA: The PPP local chapter arranged a public meeting here to pay homage to late Benazir Bhutto.Speaking on the occasion, industries minister Syed Ahmad Shah, MPA Habibur Rehman Tanoli and other PPP activists said that late Benazir had rendered matchless sacrifices for the motherland and hoped that her family would upheld her mission.They said that very soon membership campaign would be launched that would be prove the PPP`s popularity among masses.SWABI: Two rival groups of PPP Parliamentarians observed the death anniversary of their slain leader separately. The groups led by Fida Hussain and Manfat Khan respectively paid homage to late Benazir.

KARAK: The death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto was observed on Monday amid growing differences between the two PPP groups in Karak district. However, both the groups remembered their leader with respect and reverence.KOHAT: City PPP president Abdur Rauf has said that the murder of Benazir was an international conspiracy to disintegrate Pakistan, which was foiled by the government.Speaking at a ceremony, he said that all plots to divide PPP would fail because it was the party of people of all the four provinces and Azad Kashmir. Other participants reposed their confidence in the leadership of Asif Zardari.BUNER: The PPP activists here paid tribute late Benazir and offered fateha for her departed soul during functions at Daggar and Elai.The party activists gathered at the residence of Jowhar Ali to highlight Benazir`s services for the party and country. They remembered the Bhuttos for their unprecedented sacrifice of lives for the cause of empowerment of masses.LAKKI MARWAT: Speaking at a function, a local PPP leader Hameed Anjam on Monday called upon the party leadership to bring the killers of Benazir to justice and restore the central executive council membership of Senator Safdar Abbasi and Ms Naheed Khan.He said that though the government had made sincere efforts to accomplish the mission of Benazir, bringing her killers to justice was the demand of each party worker.Other speakers praised the government for launching Benazir Income Support Programme to raise the living standard of poor.
