KARACHI: Seven people, including an activist of Dawat-e-Islami, were killed in different incidents of violence and mishap on Wednesday.According to details, an activist of Dawat-e-Islami was gunned down in the incident of target killing in Taiser Town within the limits of Surjani police station. Abdul Razak, 24, son of Akhter Hussain was busy in teaching at a seminary in the premises of Faizan Kabeer Mosque at Taiser Town when two armed men appeared there and opened fire on him, resultantly he received three bullets in his body and died on the spot. The killers fled after swift operation.The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities where a large number of party activists gathered. SHO Mussadiq Rafique said the victim was the resident of Sector 36-A and an activist of Dawat-e-Islami. Tension gripped the area of the incident after his assassination. An official said the victim had clashed with someone and had fought with unknown person two days ago. He said it was a target-killing incident.Separately, a mentally disturbed man shot dead his wife and sister in the limit of Sir Syed police station, police said. DSP Altaf Hussain said accused Ghulam Akbar, who was mentally disturbed and a resident of Sector 7-A of Bilal Colony, got married with 22-year-old Shabina some eight months ago. He said the accused gunned down his wife over serious domestic disputes and on intervention also shot dead his sister. The accused fled after committing the crime. SP Altaf Hussain said the accused hailed from Mardan.Meanwhile, two bullet-riddled bodies of men were found in the bushes in Kausar Town in the limits of Khokhrapar police station. The bodies of the victims, who had several torture marks, received seven and eight bullets, respectively. SP Baqar Junejo said the victims were involved in multiple offences and were also nominated in several robbery cases.In other incident a drug peddler was gunned down in Massan Chowk, Keamari within the limits of Jackson police station. Police found the body of 22-year-old Ismail, son of Hazrat Gul, resident of Massan Chowk, from bushes.
The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy. Police said the victim was a drug peddler and he was involved in more than 20 cases of drugs, encounter and other notorious crimes. The police handed over his body to the heirs. No case was registered till filing the report.In yet another incident, a labourer was killed after falling from a building near Nauras Chowrangi in the limits of Site A police station. Abid, 28, son of Nasir was busy in work at a private textile mill building in Site area when he fell from its 2nd floor and died on the spot. Police shifted his body to the ASH for legal formalities. Police said the victim was the resident of Orangi Town and labourer by profession.Moreover, a man was shot dead in Gulshan Bridge in the remits of Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station. Ehtisham, 45, son of Mohtasim, resident of Five Star Complex, Block 1, Gulshan-e-Iqbal was going home after performing official duty when unidentified armed men opened fire on him, resultantly he received a bullet in his body and died on the spot. Area SHO said the victim was the employee in a private bank and he had no affiliation with any political party.
