Pakistan to start transplant surgery

Transplant surgery will be started in the country after the legislation in the National Assembly. Lahore General Hospital Principal Professor Tariq Salahuddin chaired a meeting in which senior professors and surgeons of Sheikh Zayed Hospital and Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) participated.It was decided in the meeting that transplant surgery would be started once the National Assembly completes its legislation on the matter. The Lahore General Hospital would be the centre of the transplant surgery in Pakistan.Professor Salahuddin said that if a person donates his body part, it would be transplanted into the body of a needy person. He said that a country wide camping would be started to raise awareness about the transplant surgery and the donation of body parts. – Dunyanews
