KARACHI: The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC)’s teams on Tuesday started a risky ‘kunda’ removing action in Abdullah Shah Ghazi Goth near Al-Azhar Garden in KDA Scheme No 33 where violent residents of the unauthorised settlement attacked the utility’s personnel. According to a company’s statement, issued here on Wednesday, the teams also seized one complete span of BC wire and around 800 metre long PVC and telephone wire used for stealing electricity from the nearby power supply network. Accompanied with the police officials, the KESC teams successfully completed the raid at this remote place despite the attackers physically stopping them and throwing stones at them. The locality has recently come up with around 300 to 400 unauthorised houses near Chapel Sun City Bungalows across the road. – Dailytimes
