ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday took serious notice of no response from AG’s Branch at GHQ despite issuing four reminders in connection with the NLC scam case.
“The NAB executive board meeting took a serious notice of getting no response from AG’s Branch GHQ despite four reminders in the NLC scam involving losses worth billions of rupees incurred by Lt Gen (r) Afzal Muzaffar, Lt Gen (r) Khalid Munir and Maj Gen (r) Khalid Zahir Akhtar,” said a press release issued by NAB.
The meeting, which was chaired by NAB Chairman Admiral (r) Fasih Bokhari decided to write a letter to the Ministry of Defence in the matter to enquire whether any proceedings were underway against the officials in the case. “If no response is received from the ministry within a week, NAB will take cognisance of the matter and proceed according to law,” the statement added. – PT
