McDonald’s in Japan said Friday it had been analyzing an incident involving a person who had been hurt by shards located inside a drink, the newest in a string of food contamination scandals.

The business said the outlet in Osaka quickly closed and delivered a notice to 95 additional restaurants that provide the type of green tea latte frappe distributed to the female, who claimed she sustained injuries.
Lots of pieces of plastic were identified in the drink, a business spokesman told AFP, adding a plastic tool used to help make the drink was the source. “At this aspect it’s merely a speculation but we assume this tool that is plastic tucked into a blender to help make the frappe he added. A number of scandals including a human tooth present in some fries has battered McDonald’s Japan device.
