The prices of petrol are likely to soar up to Rs 3 from April 1, 2016, ARY News reported.

According to sources, petrol rates will rise to Rs 2.10, high octane prices will increase Rs 3.48, high speed diesel Rs 2.27 and light diesel Rs 2.98.

Ministry of Finance said the prices of crude oil are consistently increasing in the global market, adding the international hike will impact Pakistan as well.

On the other hand, economic experts believe that government could retain petrol rates by decreasing general sales taxes.
