Jaffar Qamar appointed PC Chief Economist

Dr Jaffer Qamar has recently been appointed ‘Chief Economist’ of the Planning Commission of Pakistan by the Prime Minister. Dr Qamar has studied and worked in the US for over three decades. He holds a PhD in Economics and Finance from the University of Chicago and has worked in the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Illinois.

He has also worked as consultant with the Asian Development Bank and carries experience in Program Management and Financial and Economic Analysis.-brecorder
