KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where two ships scheduled to offload urea and chemical were berthed at Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminals on Sunday, March 6.Meanwhile five more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, coal, chemicals and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.Berth occupancy was 60% at the Port on Sunday where a total seven ships namely, Christenia, Sea Baisen, Free Envoy, M.V Split, Aquila Voyager, Hartati and New Ability are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, wheat, urea, chemical, furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours. A cargo volume of 78,265 tonnes comprising 60,583 tonnes imports and 17,682 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1913 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 48 hours.Furnace oil ships, New Ability sailed out to sea on early Monday morning while MV. Split carrying Urea, have to sail later today.Maersk Idaho, Rio Eider, Golden Ambrosia, Iolcos Vision and Al Soor II were expected to take berths at QICT Terminals, Engro Vopak Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively on Monday, March 7 – APP
