Haider Ali Gilani’s (s/o former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani) video message surfaced in which he asked his family to pay ransom amount of Rs 2 billion within one month for his release and also that his abductors are not in the control of outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the federal interior minister, confirmed Friday that video message was delivered to the governemnt. In video Haider Ali Gilani could be seen chained. The video message was all about that how his family has shown no interest in paying the ransom money. It was also tried to make clear in the message that abductors were never in the control of outlawed TTP, the militant group currently under negotiations with the government.
Earlier, it was believed that government negotiation committee had asked the outlawed Taliban negotiators to pave way for release of non-combatant civilians from the barbaric militants. However, the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan militants made it clear to their negotiators and government that they believe the high profile civilian as ‘combatant militants’. The innocent civilians in militants custody include the following three high profile men. On May 9 in 2013, armed assailants had kidnapped Ali Haider Gilani, son of the former premier.
The incident had taken place at a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) corner meeting in Farrukhabad, near Matital Road in Multan. Shahbaz Taseer, eldest son of the late Governor Punjab, was abducted from the Gulberg area of Lahore on August 26, 2011. Capital City Police Officer Lahore had said that his car was intercepted by a black SUV and motorbike around 600 yards from the office and up to three men had dragged Taseer out of the car and taken him away.
On September 7, 2010, vice-chancellor of the ICU Ajmal Khan was kidnapped from Peshawar while he was on his way to his office. Ajmal Khan is one of the senior most academicians of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and had been the principal of the historic Islamia College, provost and registrar of the University of Peshawar and VC of Gomal University Dera Ismail Khan. – pakistantribe
